Q: How do I maintain my X-POLE?Updated a year ago

Day to day cleaning of Brass, Chrome, Stainless, Powder Coated Poles & stage bases:
Only use straight Metho sprayed directly onto a microfibre cloth. No water, no sterilising agents, no bleach, and no disinfectant.
Ensure the adjuster covers & bases are kept clean and dry & dust free. Make sure to remember this if mopping floors near your pole, and remember to clean and dry your pole after each session. Don't let anyone use resin, resin-based grips, or wax on your pole.
Stages that are used outdoors must be well cleaned: vacuum & sweep off all dirt/dust residue, then clean thoroughly with metho & then dry well.
Moisture & sand will cause rust & all our poles use steel componentry that must be kept dry & free from any condensation or moisture.

Deep cleaning brass only:
A note on brass poles - brass is a material that will tarnish over time naturally - it tarnishes just with exposure to oxygen in the air; natural oils in your skin and other elements in the air will also cause it to tarnish. This tarnish is something that actually enhances the grip of a brass pole, and is why a brand new brass X-Pole won't be as grippy as your brass pole in a studio - this grip will build up over time & with use. You can however clean this tarnish off if you find you want a new-looking pole again, or if the tarnish is uneven and is not aesthetically pleasing - keep in mind that any extra grip that has built up will be cleaned away also. You can clean those marks off (any future marks from storing your pole) with a product called ‘Mr Buff’ – don’t use Brasso! You apparently can’t find it at every Bunnings, so you’re best going to Supa Cheap Auto and getting it from there, or call your Bunnings or local hardware store first to see if they’ve got it before you make the trip out there.

Silicone only:
Designed for Silicone 'Toys', this pole cleaner is incredible on Silicone poles. You cannot use metho, water/soap, or other household cleaning agents on silicone, partly due to the effect on the silicone, but also to protect the pole underneath.

Powder-coated poles: DO NOT use acetone on your powder-coated pole as you will damage the powder-coating. Below are recommendations on how to clean powder-coated surfaces to ensure longevity for the finish.
 To clean your powder-coated surface:
  1. Carefully remove any loose deposits with a wet sponge.
  2. Use a soft brush (non-abrasive) or cloth, and a mild household detergent solution to remove dust, salt, and other deposits.
  3. Rinse off with clean fresh water.
